Winter Closing Policy

At the North Pocono Public Library

The North Pocono Public Library has changed its Snow Policy. In order to fulfill its mission of public service, the North Pocono Public Library will make every reasonable effort to open to the public as scheduled, consistent with safe access for staff and the public.

During inclement weather sufficient to make travel hazardous or during emergencies, the Library Director, or senior staff on duty, may decide to close the library or delay opening.

In the case of an overnight snowfall, the decision will be made by 7:00 AM to close or delay. If there is a need to delay opening the library, the library will open at 10:00 AM.

If weather forecasts and road conditions warrant, the Library Director or designee, may close the library early or close for the day.

The Library will make every effort to inform the public if the library will be closed or have a delayed opening. The library will attempt to have notices placed on the WNEP Community Closings Calendar (WEB), on our web page, Facebook, on the library's phone system and if possible, on the library's kiosk sign.
